About mlhunter.com - the early days
mlhunter.com business activities operate with a Missouri State DBA (doing business as) B Inline Systems.
Beginning in 1998 an continuing for the following four years, mlhunter.com was operated as a successful internet inline muzzleloading store. Those were the early days of state's initiating and expansion of muzzleloading seasons for deer hunting. Everyone was thirsting for knowledge on how to get started with muzzleloading for deer. I was on that trend early and tried a lot of muzzleloading rifles and accessories stuff. If it was good stuff I sold it on my web site. I offered a lot of help, good after sale support, and the business was successful. After five years, the muzzleloading business became mainstream, there was plenty of information available, and the mega stores had caught on the trend. With the mega store's massive bargaining powers, reasonable profits were no longer there for a small operation.
About mlhunter.com - our Austin and Halleck relationship
Early on I tried and was impressed with Austin and Halleck rifles. They did not have an operating web site then and I offered to become their internet presence in exchange for a dealership. Thus, mlhunter.com became their internet presence. During that time I was told that we were the largest internet retailer of Austin & Halleck inline rifles. However, once their operation moved from Weston, MO to Provo, Utah we were abruptly abandoned. In spite of that and best we could, we supported the many customers we had sold these rifles to.
About mlhunter.com - the intervening years
I've continued to maintain the web site the last few years but other interests have taken precedence. From a hunting perspective, the most notable thing I've done is to operate the 200 acre family farm in central Missouri with the help of my brother and sons and get the entire farm into quail management practices with the help of the Missouri Department of Conservation.
About mlhunter.com - now
After several years of muzzleloading for deer some hunters, myself included, are expanding the muzzleloading experience. As in the early days, there is very little information available on this so I'm back to my experimenting days. This includes currently available inline and traditional firearms and products.
As before, rather than keep what I learn to myself, I plan to include what I learn on this web site and sell some of those items on various auction sites.
So you might say, we're back to our roots and taking muzzleloading hunting to the next level ! ! !.
